Ingredients You’ll Need For This Recipe:

Preparation time: 20 minutes
Cooking time: 30 minutes

  • (1) 12-count pkg. potato rolls
  • 4 ounces sliced pepperoni
  • 6 slices provolone cheese
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tbsp avocado oil (or other high heat cooking oil)
  • 1/2 lb of italian sausage (out of casing)

Garlic sauce:

  • 1/2 cup room temperature butter
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes
  • 1 teaspoon diced fresh oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper

  • Marinara Sauce (warmed, on the side)
    • Putting the marinara sauce onto the bread before baking makes the bread soggy.
    • Leave the marinara on the side and dip the sliders into the sauce for the best experience.

Step-by-step Guide:

1 – Preheat oven to 400 °.

2 – Cook the italian sausage in a non-stick skillet with 2 tbsp. oil for 10 minutes on high heat.

3 – Mix the butter, garlic, chili flakes, oregano, salt, and pepper.

4 – Cut the potato rolls into half with a large serrated knife, being careful not to separate the individual sections.

5 – Lay  aluminum foil in a baking pan with the bottom half of rolls.

6 – Spread half the butter mix over the bottom half of the rolls.

7- Top with the pepperoni and crumbled Italian sausage.

8 – Spread the provolone and mozzarella cheese over the pepperoni and sausage.

9- Cover with top half of the rolls.

10 – Brush the other half of the butter mix over the top half of the rolls.

11- Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes.

12 – Remove from oven and cut the sections into individual sliders.

14 – Serve piping hot and enjoy!

Pro Tips for Success:

  • Make it meat-free: Swap the sausage and pepperoni with sautéed mushrooms, olives, or roasted red peppers for a tasty vegetarian version.

  • Use pre-cooked sausage: To save time, grab pre-cooked Italian sausage crumbles or meatless sausage options from the store.

  • Try different cheeses: Mix things up with cheddar, fontina, or a spicy pepper jack for a flavor twist.

  • Switch up the bread: Try King’s Hawaiian rolls or brioche buns for a sweet or buttery boost without overpowering the pizza flavors.

  • Serve it hot: Keep these warm in the oven on low or a slow cooker set to “warm” so they stay gooey and fresh for guests.
