These chocolate monster bars are the perfect spooky-sweet treat for Summerween or a traditional Halloween party!

Whether you’re planning a Halloween bash, throwing a poolside Summerween get-together, or just looking for a fun edible craft for kids, these decorated bars are a total win.

They’re bright, playful, and way easier than they look—just grab some chocolate-covered bars and get decorating.

You can turn your favorite store-bought candy bars into little mummies, jack-o’-lanterns, or even Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas.

It’s a simple no-bake idea that works for any creepy celebration—indoors or out, October or July.

Ingredients (Prep Time: 20 Minutes | Makes: 4 Decorated Bars)

  • 4 chocolate-covered wafer bars (dark or milk chocolate)
  • ⅓ cup white chocolate chips
  • A little melted dark chocolate
  • Chocolate chips, sugar eyes
  • Food coloring: green, orange, blue

Chocolate Monster Bars Instructions

1- Melt the white chocolate chips using a boiler. Tint one-third green using food coloring.

2- For the mummy: Place one bar on a board. Pipe two green eyes using the tinted chocolate, add chocolate chip pupils, then chill for 5 minutes.

3- Fill a piping bag with plain white chocolate. Outline the eyes, then add diagonal “bandage” stripes across the bar to finish the mummy.

4- Tint another portion of white chocolate orange. On the remaining 3 bars, outline Sally’s red hair, a jack-o’-lantern shape, and Frankenstein’s eyes. Use dark chocolate to fill in hair and pumpkin details. Chill.

5- Fill in the monster faces with colored chocolate. Add sugar eyes and draw stitches or scars with an edible marker. Chill before serving.

Pro Tips for Success

  • Want a healthier version? Use chocolate-covered protein bars instead of candy.
  • Plastic syringes (no needle!) or piping bags with fine tips work best for decorating details.
  • Hosting a party? Set up a DIY decorating station and let kids or guests make their own “monster bars.”
  • These store well—just refrigerate until ready to serve, especially for Summerween parties outside!

Whether you’re hosting a Halloween celebration in October or throwing a quirky Summerween bash in July, these chocolate monster bars totally fit the mood.

They’re festive, flexible, and so easy to customize. Plus, they bring a little creepy creativity to any seasonal table without a lot of work.
